Introduction

Bloblands is a compact concrete skatepark centred around a volcano feature. Banks, quarters and transitions connect around the perimeter to create a variety of routes within a relatively small footprint. A separate mini ramp, constructed from leftover concrete during the original build, sits alongside the main park and has become a well-used feature in its own right.

Small, strange, but surprisingly fun.

Scout Notes

  1. The obvious line isn’t necessarily the best one. The volcano opens alternative routes that become more rewarding with each visit.

  2. The preserved volcano gives the park an identity that couldn’t be recreated if it were designed from scratch today.

  3. After rain, lower areas can remain damp for longer than expected.

  4. The mini-ramp reflects the park’s DIY spirit, reportedly poured using leftover concrete from the main build.

  5. Despite its modest footprint, the park offers more variety than its size initially suggests.
