Introduction
Set within Forest Road Recreation Ground, this new concrete park was built by Betongpark and opened in March 2026, replacing the old prefabricated skatepark that had served the area for decades.
The layout is spread across three levels, with plenty of open space between the sections. A central plaza has flat bars and granite ledges, while lower street features include kerbs, rails and hubbas.
The park feels super open, with plenty of space to build speed and come in and out of features. Jersey barriers are a unique addition, adding a real sense of street to the otherwise clean concrete layout.
Textured surfaces give the impression of brickwork across some of the banks, while also adding variation to the riding surface. Painted curves run throughout the park, bringing some colour and giving the different sections their own character.
All in all, it’s a modern approach to skatepark design - well spaced, with a good balance of street and transition, and plenty of room to build confidence and find your own lines.
A modern park with room to breathe
